There is delicious BBQ to be eaten if you can find your way to Bigfoot BBQ in the Basement marketplace of the Old Town Shops. True BBQ connoisseurs just follow the smell of wood smoke and spices to this local hangout. From navigating through the small clothing boutiques walking into Bigfoot feels like your entering another world, a delicious and saucy world. Walk past their section of BBQ sauces, books, and memorabilia you find yourself at what looks like an old BBQ shack. The walls are lined with old license plates, faded signs, and classic beer cans. Scratched wooden tables topped with condiments in old 6-packs surrounded by an array of different plastic chairs. The floor doubles as a receptacle for your peanut shells which you serve yourself from wooden barrels. The staff is friendly and energetic. Their are more than happy to help you find exactly what you want, never shy to offer their personal favorites and even bringing you their special BBQ sauces. The crowd is a diverse one ranging from families, college students, to cross-country travelers fresh of Route 66. Influenced and inspired by the true BBQ of the South they offer classic BBQ sandwiches with your choice of pork, brisket, or chicken served on a fluffy hamburger bun ($6.99). You get your choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or chips as your side you can add coleslaw to your sandwich for a more traditional eat. If you are hungry and adventurous try one of their delicious Truck Stop Creations. These sandwiches with a kick have everything from ham or sausage to a Catfish Po’ Boy. The Smokin’ Bulldog ($7.99) has it all, a hot Andouille sausage topped with brisket, sauce, cheese, and onions.  When it comes to the best BBQ on Route 66 you can always count on Bigfoot.
