Karma – Flagstaff, AZ

Karma's Sushi BarKarma’s Sushi Bar. Amidst historic downtown Flagstaff you can find Karma Sushi and Tapas Bar, a modern Japanese restaurant with a southern twist. Modern lighting and Japanese art make the décor for this delicious eatery. The sushi chefs are very friendly and love to talk with their patrons, which include everyone from families, college students, and traveler’s fresh of Route 66. For eclectic Tapas try their Sashimitini, seafood cocktail swimming in sake, cand mint ($10). Despite a very tasty menu of Japanese cusine their sushi is the finest. My favorite, The Kaptain Krunch ($8), tempura King Krab, avocado, and cucumber topped with sweet sauce. Their signature roll, the Karma Roll, is outstanding. Shrimp tempura cream cheese and caviar topped with eel wasabi cream and spice make for a perfect roll. An initial smooth creamy texture is followed by a nice crunch from the tempura. For fine southwestern sushi look no further than Karma.

Next time you visit Flagstaff you should try Hiro’s sushi. The decor isn’t as charming, but the food is amazing and I like their sushi better than Karma’s. But if you do decide to go back to Karma, they have the best fried rice I’ve ever had.

Hiro’s is one of my favorites! I just love the atmosphere at Karma and am friendly with many of the servers. But Hiro’s has some great tasting fish and very fast service.
