Sweet Chili – West Hollywood, CA

10 Oct

Pretty empty for a Friday night so initially I was a little weery but they were very friendly and got us our menus and drinks very quickly. The place is small and have maybe 12 small tables but the ambiance was nice. I got up and walked past the kitchen and could see them cutting fresh meet and vegetables as well as mixing the various sauces.

Me and my girlfriend split the Tom Ka soup and calamari salad to start. The soup was delicious and tasted like real coconut milk which makes it that much better. The salad was decent and the vegetables tasted fresh, but we both found it way too fishy. The next dish we ordered was pad Thai, because he insists on it any time we try a new Thai place, and I found it to be excellent. It was very traditional which in turn leaves it plain and without a defining flare to flavor. The Prig Khing I had was perfect with just the right amount of spice but also unoriginal like the Pad Thai.

Overall it was very tasty and a great Thai place close by to walk to.
